What's a Peer Group?

Peer Groups meet monthly by phone for discussion among colleagues struggling with similar issues.

Groups are created thoughtfully, with attention paid to industry experience, company type, number of collectors in your organization, and, if appropriate, the industry.

What You Can Expect

Peer-to-peer conversations with a vetted group of colleagues. Groups are limited to 25 Compliance Professionals in order to foster trust and active participation.

Monthly conference calls on compliance critical topics selected by the group. These monthly conference calls are approximately 60 minutes, depending on topic and need. These calls are organized and moderated by CPF staff. Group members are encouraged to share responsibility for planning the agenda and leading the discussion.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • How to involve your Board of Directors in Compliance?
  • How do you manage your call monitoring program and what is your policy?
  • How do you get a new hire in compliance up to speed quickly?
  • How do you organize your Policies and Procedures document?
  • How do you deploy new policies?
  • How is Operations (or other departments) trained and tested on new policies?
  • Am I missing key policies?
  • How do you regulate the use of social media in your organization?
  • How do I best stay on top of changes in state laws?

Confidentiality. Your business’s privacy is respected. The Peer Group will not use private business information for endeavors outside of the group.

What's Expected of Participants

Participation in at least 9 of 12 monthly conference calls. These groups are only successful with active involvement from the members.

Taking the lead on preparation for one of the 12 conference calls. CPF will provide additional operational and administrative assistance.

Frank and active input into the conversation. Your work together as a team is part of the value of a group of this nature.

Confidentiality. These groups are a safe and confidential space to discuss critical compliance issues. The goal is to strengthen the industry as a whole. While general best practices will be developed and shared with the group, specifics from each of your agencies are not required and are not to leave the group itself.
